According to new research, dads in the UK are happier than mums, yet are ranked as a lower life-satisfaction category than their offspring.
Published by a major global law firm, the survey carried out by The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) found dads are better off in many areas than mums when it comes to personal happiness and well-being.
Speaking to the BBC, Nick Barlow from the EIU, who wrote the study, said: "It's not a surprise that dads are less happy, more stressed, less satisfied and more worried than mums.
"The key factor is that they are less engaged in their children's lives than mums and this impacts on their satisfaction."
According to the study, out of the world's parents, dads have the worst personal happiness compared to mums in 21 countries, including the UK.
Linda Ercolani, Head of Brand and Marketing at the Telegraph Shop, commented: "As one of the most valuable possessions, being a dad is the ultimate symbol of a family life that is both rewarding and challenging.
